# Takshif | تكشيف
> Arabic-native archival systems and services, provided by archivists serving other archivists.

For the Arabic guide: [دليل تكشيف العربي](https://takshif.com/llms.txt)

## What We Do
Takshif is the Arabic-speaking arm of [Boyne Archives](https://boynearchives.ie), an international archives consultancy founded by Matthew Bruton. Takshif helps archives, libraries, museums, universities and heritage institutions preserve, describe, digitise, host and provide access to Arabic collections. The original source remains authoritative: the machine suggests, the human reviews, and the original source decides.

## Archivists Serving Archivists
What makes us unique is that we are archivists serving other archivists. From small, one-archivist archives to large corporate or national archives, we understand the priorities and workflows that archivists have. Takshif is not a software company looking for an archival market; it is a professional archival practice using technology to serve the profession.

## Services
- **Archive systems and hosting**: Managed Arabic/RTL deployments of AtoM, ArchivesSpace, Koha, IIIF and related open-source preservation and repository systems.
- **ArchiveBuddy.ai**: An Arabic-ready archival assistant for description, metadata, digitisation planning, preservation checks and collection-grounded questions.
- **Arabic OCR and HTR**: Printed-text and handwriting-recognition workflows with human review and permanent links to source images.
- **Museums and collections**: Arabic-native Heratio collection management for objects, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies and hierarchy.
- **Digitisation and digital humanities**: Arabic manuscript and document digitisation, IIIF delivery, structured text and research-corpus support.
- **AI integration for archives**: Responsible integration of text recognition, entity and metadata extraction, and semantic search into institutional archival workflows.
